Ingredients

1 c. oil

2 tsp sechuan pepper corns

1 pint jar

1 tsp sesame oil

2 Tbs. sesame seeds

4 Tbs. redd pepper powder

1 piece star anise

1 bay leaf

1 piece ginger

Directions

1. Heat oil with ginger piece until ginger begins to brown. In the mean time, assemle other ingredients.
2. Into the pint jar, put all of the remaining ingredients: sesame oil, sesame seeds, sechuan pepper corns, red pepper powder, star anise, bay leaf.
3. When the ginger begins to brown, remove it from the oil and pour the hot oil into the jar. It will bubble and cook the chili powder/flakes.
4. Allow to cool to room temperature, then store in the fridge for up to 6 months.
